Not sure if I've ever heard about anyone successfully using the recovery shell

Recovery shells are mystery boxes of 'fun'

The reason fun is in quotes is because I generally don't define fun like everyone else

The recovery shell is now your new OS. If you want it or not

    Awesome!

A perfect chance to try out LVM and make it the last time you have to mess with low-level directives.

    Me: Tab completion?

Recovery shell: NO!! You must type out every character.

    Me: 😒

@infernalempress it's not hard to learn and if you can use it you are a god besides your friends
Just understand how grub works and then you just define root, set your kernel and intrd image and there you go!
Except if you want to boot efi with the grub shell, then it's a bit more complex

@git-fuckyou I've always figured that one day I would take the time to learn how to use it to some extent.

Usually if my system won't boot right now, I chroot from an Arch USB and see what went wrong (I remember a systemd update breaking something months ago and I just reverted the update from my USB)

@infernalempress that’s what I did, I just reinstalled the bootloader.

Is it possible to set up the arch iso AS a recovery OS?

@infernalempress I always to that too, because it's faster
