@zlice Red Hat is a company which makes a commercial distro called Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Fedora is the (mostly) community driven consumer desktop distro run through Red Hat's org structure (somewhat), and CentOS is a community clone of RHEL aiming to be compatible but not have the Corporate back-end to change the politics involved.

Every time I have to go near that server I have to say out loud: "time for the fuck fuck games"

@zlice apparently my employer was using the Oracle distro at one point and it sucked so bad they went with RedHat. They could have just gone Debian or CentOS but noooooooooo.

My current company "Novartis" uses RedHat Open Shift platform for cloud and container orchestraization and it's such a shit platform. They have taken public docker and kubernetes and just added a UI to it. Since anybody can use it they have added their fancy ways to manage things. Docker was founded so that people have same environment everywhere. Docker images deployment maintained by you works fine but not the same with Openshift. Additionally they have their own custom images (s2i) which uses their own quirks as always. These images are old and have some or the other issue, it's more pain in the ass getting openshift work rather than running it in docker. ...............just fuck them. They are nuissance to the society and open source. No innovation just copying from the open source and then selling as their product. And companies are more idiotic than them getting influenced by their marketing jargons...supprot...seucrity etc.

You are constrained to the version you are using, docker has moved to higher version but now if you need to use the latetst tech you need Open shift higher version which is again pain in the ass since all the projects would need to be migrated which nobody would do. These guys just know how to such money out of foolish rich companies. That's the whole difference b/t such companies and startup. That's why these big companies can never innovate in tech. They are so much scared of it, we want support, security. Fuck you. .........They have issues wich alpine images which are like a world standard for docker images. If you go to the team that there's issue they would simply say don't use "Alpine" image. Fuck you. And if you use their image means you have to learn openshift first. What am I supposed to do? learn their propreity technology just to deploy my application? Fuck everyone. Fuck oracle. Fuck capitalism. Fuck all retarded big companies.
