@djsumdog that would be running unsupported software on shitty hardware (ref: Louis Rossmann), why would anyone do that? The only reason I would buy a mac is because OS X is a beautiful and productive system for some applications.

Dont waste thousands of dollars on their garbage build quality if you want to run Linux, go get something better with the same money like a thinkpad.

@tokumei I never bought anything from Apple in my life. Simply because almost all of their products are way too overpriced imo. And I don't care about their amazing 'design' or 'customer support'. I'm not a big fan of macOS either.

I have to admit tho that their iMac Pro ($5.000) is a fair price for what you get in terms of hardware.

I was very close to buying one tbh.

But too much deal breakers like horrible warranty policy, poor upgrading options, installing linux is risky ?? (Not 100% sure) and terrible cooling and thermal throttling.

$450.

I can have photoshop, 10 terminal windows, db management software, sublime editor, wsl, chrome with 30 tabs, including facebook, docs.google(10 tabs) etc etc

still fast as lightning

and for that matter, anyone who buys a current year cellphone is also, a sucker

3 years ago tech for a cellphone is MORETHAN GOOD ENOUGH and costs $150.

-sexy af designed hardware
-uber duper fast arch Linux
-literally not-so-awful-to-figure-out proprietary drivers

I agree with you.

Although I feel like almost every company out there is for suckers these days. Even Microsoft.

One example is that they offer these 'bloatware-free' laptops with come installed with Candy Crush, Bubble Witch Saga and Minecraft.

Another one is Razer with their overpriced RGB hardware.

Apple is just next level... People buying 1000 dollar phones just to scroll through their fasebook and text each other.

But as an individual consumer, there is not a lot that you can do, not? To not be a 'sucker'?
