WHY Atom, when I explicitly select a suggestion do you NOT ACTUALLY AUTOCOMPLETE THE SUGGESTION ?

I have configured so many fucking settings to try to avoid this why is it that I have to explicitly select my option 3 and 4 times before you ACTUALLY auto fill it.

I use you specifically FOR the auto complete function and you FUCK ME OVER ON IT.

I can just not seem to find a text editor or IDE that doesn't annoy the shit out of me one way or the other

@jschmold I was using Vim with You Complete Me but seemed to have problem after problem with it, which is what made me download something besides vim in the first place.

Maybe I just need to revisit it and try to make that plug in work

@jschmold when I was using Vim/YouCompleteMe I was mainly doing JS and some PHP but now my workload consists of mainly Java with bits of JS and Kotlin sprinkled here and there.

@jschmold I'm not sure why, but I have stayed far away from VS Code since I've heard of it, but without good reason. Maybe I should give in and try it out

@andros705 there wasn't really any particular problem. I think it was mainly that I saw people use VS code for c# and other languages I don't really use so I was never really drawn into it. Like I said, not a very good reason for not trying it out.
However, I think I will have to give it a shot. I could end up loving it (or at least I hope I do). I like pretty much everything else about Atom except the annoying bit I mentioned in this rant, so maybe VS code will be an improvement

Atom is really annyoing when I came to autofill prompts because I'm pretty sure that some are filled by using tab and others use enter. I have no idea why, but I always seemed to choose the wrong one.

Also atom eats up ram.........so I switched to VIM.
