@duckWit haven't you ever cancel your plans with your family for some work related issue?
-
duckWit56696y@cha-m-ra yes. Being a husband first, to me, means open communication with my wife. I tell her about the issue and discuss it with her so we come up with a game plan together. I don't want to unilaterally dump everything on her and bail with regard to the kids and what not. This is putting her first.
Then when the emergency is over, I do my best to make up for the time lost as both a husband and a dad. How I choose to spend my free time speaks volumes.
I have no shortage of flaws, but I must be doing something right, it's our 11th anniversary this month.
...oh shit, it's our anniversary this month! -
felbit4116yMarry another engineer, like I did.
We both understand each other's workload and take our time cautiously. -
Um.. I don't.. luckily husband doesn't have 8h deskjob either, so he understands if I have to work late and/or on weekends/vacation..
Not happy about it, but understands..
