Wrong point of the tech cycle, I guess. We're in an evolutionary phase, and that's not a good starting point for a lone coding student. 20 years ago, that would have worked when the web was young. 40 years ago, when PCs were young. Today, you get programmers on freelancing sites who underbid each other, and the low hanging fruits that a lone junior could reach have long been harvested.
But maybe sysadmin support in a company could be a thing because that's more individual. -
If you really need money you are probably better off freelancing or tutoring studens in programming for some side cash.
