dfox428278yKeep trying!! I know how hard it must be to not get discouraged, but I think that's important.
Maybe try to create a few open source projects on GitHub? Even if small, employers usually really like seeing that I think. -
gustash24518y@dfox I have plenty of those on my resume... But it seems like having a big one year Android project that got max grades as the final school project means nothing because I "don't have 3 years of experience"

isn't portugal one of the hardest place in europe for graduates to find a job? I've read that many young people from portugal are leaving in order to work abroad. Many go to Angola Africa, Germany and Switzerland. Would that be an option for you?

By experience they mean in the industry, not many care for personal experience as much as it sucks.

Depending on position you are searching but its possible to fudge your CV a bit as long as you are up front in the interview.
First sort are often done by a shell script person.
if (experience < 2)
application > /dev/null
But if you do this you need to know that you can do the job or you burn any future in that company or get a general bad reputation. -
gustash24518y@heyheni not right now. I have family here and I need the support in the first few years, and I also have a girlfriend here, so I don't really want to just pack and go for now

do you use linkedin and xing? just write some ceos and hr folks from companies that you have some ideas on how to solve their problems. Talk about how you will define the companys efforts in the digital transformation. And how they will profit from it.

Firstly, you will get a job. I promise you will get a job. The great news is once you get that first job the others in your career will be easier. Also keep in mind that in the job hunting game 100 no's and 1 yes from the right company means you win. Every 'no' gets you closer to 'yes'.
So let's make some tweaks in your hunting process interactively to increase your odds. Other devRanters will join in 😀
Do you have a good cover letter and resume? Are both all about the value you will provide the company? Are you customizing each cover letter and resume to exactly match the job requirements? Your resume may never be seen by a person. A matching algorithm may be filtering you in or out. We would like to critique both the cl and resume for you.
Absolutely critical: describe to us in detail how you are finding opportunities? My next post will speak to searching and marketing.
Begin by responding to the questions above. You will get a job. I promise! -
Gustash - let that passion that you know you can do a great job show through in the cover letter. It's all about helping them succeed.

When you send those resumes out and you do not hear from the hiring person what do you do? This can be a difference maker.

@2Fdev2Ftcsh
To clearify earlier post. Sell yourself like a seles person would sell your software.
It runs on multiple O.S. and are targeting the whole world.
printf ("hello world"); -
You can easly communicate in different languages.

I feel incredibly frustrated. I just got out of school and I'm looking for a job, but I don't know where to turn to. I found landing.jobs, but they turn down every single application I send because I "don't have enough experience", even though I have 2 years worth of experience with .NET and Android development.
I like to think of you guys as friends, family even, and if you know any good place I could turn to to get a job, I would really appreciate it.
I feel frustrated and depressed, I've been sending resumes left and right and I haven't had a single shimmer of light, and I know what I'm capable of...
I'm sorry I'm taking this out on here, but I don't know where else to turn to...
