Why does it have to be Men Vs Women, why does there have to be any comparison at all, except the question that how does this individual compare to the rest.
I really don't care whether one is old, young, male or female or whatever other factor that can be used to separate humans into groups. Why can't it simply be: Does this individual produce the end result required? Period.

    these types of comments are annoying. For men and for women. As a man, I can see where it gets annoying and even degrading. As a woman, it feels like one gets hired simply because they have quotas to fill and not because ones skills are good.

    @hasu being woman alone is a bit too little these days. But add in being black plus lesbian, and you're masterrace. You'd be so valuable for the diversity stats in US tech companies that they wouldn't fire you even if you did zero useful work.

    @Fast-Nop same here in germany. I was born in belarussia and moved to germany when i was like 9 years old or so. Female + immigration background. They love it.

    @hasu in big German companies yes, but they are about 80% busy with themselves (no joke) anyway. "Politics" are overly important. But the interesting work is with smaller companies anyway, though they don't pay as well. Smaller companies don't have these kind of empty positions. My fav in a big company was that the work level had to make big reports to seem important, and they had someone whose only task was to sum up these reports for management because it was too much useless information.

    Not saying that big companies are fucked up specifically with quota women, the men often are useless dazzlers, too.
