Ha I just googled to see the significance of the name with regard to the pi. Turns out the article I read had to do with the Richard Parker that was the inspiration for that Richard Parker. Makes it all the more interesting!

Actually it would seem that the Richard Parker in the article I read may have nothing to do with the life of pi Richard Parker, but a few people online have drawn a correlation. Either way. Interesting article and now you just need a tiger sticker for your pi :)
