nate15136y@jespersh That was pretty much why I tried to get fired. I have the unopened letter with me as I took it back off my manager before I left the building 😂

hell169546y@Bitwise and that sums up what is wrong with the world: the shitty employees end up having what they want and the good ones end up being enslaved.

@Bitwise @hell
"I literally took a shit on the boss' desk, why not fire me?"
HR: "Hmm fair point. Although it is a very beautiful helical dump, such craftsmanship. Nice consistency and bouquet of scents. We need this kind of daring creativity. How do you feel about leading a department with 50 junior devs? Without increase in pay of course..." -
And why did they fire you? Or don't they need a reason because local law allows hire/fire just like that, or were you on probation?
-
nate15136y@Fast-Nop "Gross misconduct", basically for insubordination/swearing at someone in HR when we got into an argument. It really is just me at this one person that don't get along at all. I'm going for unfair dismissal.
I did want to leave anyway due to change of office (hot desking), but to be fair I would much rather be fired like this! -
Root825576y@nate "fuck you" is hardly gross misconduct. Even cussing someone out for an hour straight probably doesn't earn you that, unless maybe it's the CEO, a client, or investors.
Swearing at someone during an argument is, at best, misconduct, or insubordination if it's in response to your boss asking you to do something.
"Gross misconduct" makes it sound like they just really don't like you.
👋🏻 So, yesterday I thought I'd quit...
👠 Today it turns out I've been fired, and my resignation wasn't opened 😂 😂
🖕 Hannah from HR
In fairness I did literally say that to Hannah from HR yesterday in a sort-of-attempt to get myself fired, so... I'm not quite sure who wins...
