    We germans call cars
    AUTO.
My dad used to say the "au" is for "ouch" (germ. "Autsch").

    Sorry bro

I know a tip to avoid those fines, but dont tell anyone else.

    Dont double park.

Damn I love Germany for this, paid 15€ at most for parking tickets and being 29 km/h too fast only was like 100€

@jonii parking isnt dangerous, driving to fast can be.

@Codex404 I know. I wasn't bitching about speeding tickets being more expensive, my point was that tickets are way cheaper over here.

@jonii yeah 100 for 29kmh isnt that much indeed.

@Codex404 well it hit me pretty hard, since I'm a poor trainee, but for somebody who earns considerably more it's peanuts.
  • 2
@jonii then why drive that fast?
  • 2
@Codex404 I'm leadfooted, young, dumb and had an S-Class under my ass.

Hence I got two speeding tickets within two days.

    What's double parking?

@MrMarlin parking in a place blocking another parkingspot.

    Hey guys...

Well, When I worked as a truck driver, picking up recycling material, I had a few problems with people double parking...

Especially when they do so and then go to work or take one hour or more.

Got a few cars taken by the police this way (I would call the police if I hit the horn and no one would show up in 5/10 minutes).

One time I got stuck for 3 hours because people would keep double parking to go to the bread shore, one would leave, other would double park. That time the fucking police didn't show up... They would win for a week in 5 minutes.

BTW, other college had to cancel a rest day to do the rest of my work, because a truck driver can't drive over 9h a day.

Don't get me wrong. I understand that double parking is wrong, but damn. $115, come on now. I was gone for 30 mins tops, blocked no driver in, i was infront of the driveway of the house i was at.

The city just tries to rub every cent of you.

@Holyfield3000 in which case it is something you dont have to pay if you make a formal complain about it and no harm done.

But see it the other way, if you would want to leave but a car is blocking your driveway you probably want that car to be fined too.
