@Linux I know. That's why I'm looking somewhere else, more interesting and more dollarz...
-
I won't even mention mine, but I can tell you, circus Carney's probably makes more.
-
1600 euro, holland, w/ 3 years webdev experience. I think this is on the Low End.
-
@Sauruz Yeah I know, had my last day Friday, so now I am looking for New and better paying adventures (and maybe a company with documentation that doesn't use Yii, but that is another story).
-
I'm a French student in Denmark who just started a web dev job. Around 18€/h. But taxes can reach up to 50% if you earn too much...
-
Anderson218yI earn 600€ in Serbia as a front end developer with a few years of XP. For the first job, salary can start from 300€ and for seniors it can reach up to 1500€.
:'( -
@Anderson what is the average salary in Serbia (for professions that require the same level of education)? just curious.
-
Anderson218y@stevenliemberg 300 to 350€, officially. In reality, a lot of people with university degrees are working for something closer to 200€, without any benefits.
-
Doctor-Az828y1600€ for 3 years experiences in Reunion Island as a web/mobile dev and ui/ux designer.
-
johnc456708yUK 8 Yrs full stack developer on embedded devices: £5800 before tax, ~£4k after tax (that's 7700/5300 USD).
It was a lot less starting out but I've stayed in the same company the whole time and worked my way up. -
@JBPeb six years experience, four at my current job and I take home less than you.
Feel like I'm getting abused. 🙁 -
bt1415161338yAround £20,000 per year at 19 straight out of college (i don't have a degree) in northern UK. it is worth noting though that I think I did quite well starting that high, especially since most of the people on my course either don't have jobs or are working in shops.
-
@bt141516 For what it worth, a friend has no special degrees, but start coding at 14/15 years old. He earns now €2500+-/month. So keep going! :)
-
bt1415161338y@larsouille yeah I get to do my dream job which matters to me more than money to a certain extent and the great thing is that there is always a new challenge which is something I can't say about most jobs. For instance I'd love to start doing IOS development.
-
@bt141516 That's what I like too, the challenges. This is also a reason why I looking somewhere else. After 7/8 months in the company I work in, telling them, versioning exists, we have the technology, I'm super bored.
-
@johnc456 I thought that would be more like 50k/60k, specially in/around London (for example), for a senior dev :s
-
johnc456708y@larsouille Maybe, I don't know that many people in jobs like that, in my company they'd expect people to do more than just pure web development to get to that but then we're not in that business so it might be different elsewhere!
-
JBPeb2668y@kwilliams aw man 🙁 Hope you do get payed more eventually. Either at your current job or perhaps another job.
-
@Robbatron oh man, thanks you :')
I still plan to move to Paris because challenges, salary, agile, solid... things not known where I work ahah -
johnc456708y@larsouille I'm the lead software dev on a range of embedded hardware platforms so it's some of all of that, probably ~10% arch, ~10% devops, the rest spread over the application stack. Our system uses FPGAs so at the lowest level is VHDL, up through Linux kernel drivers, c++ userspace app (most of the work is here) onto HTML/JS and Java front-ends, (swing unfortunately 🙁)
-
elgamine2838ydepends on where tu live ! you're underpaid for most cities
what's your qualification and what languages do you use in your job ? and where do you live ? -
I know, but that interest me to have actual facts (salary), not some Intel I read on the internet.
-
@kwilliams Indeed. Especially if you can read posts above. No doubt you can find something better!!
-
@larsouille problem is that I love my job and my colleagues. Will likely just speak to my boss to see if we can arrange something.
-
Yeah but it's all about your future dude. The friend I talk about posts above, I used to work with him, told him to take this huge mission in a huge company, even if we catch up less often. He works there now, getting better and better coding, great salary... for his best!
Looking elsewhere doesn't mean you won't have contact with them anymore, if you enjoy their company, you can still see them from time to time ;) -
johnc456708y@larsouille Thought about it but I have a family to support and I bring in a lot more than my wife (not to mention she's on maternity leave right now so bring in even less!). I quite like it here right now as I've got a lot a freedom on how things are done. I think I'd like to see my projects here more finished off before I move on.
-
@johnc456 Well the important is that you have a comfortable situation you're okay with. Even if I'm looking for more money, the best is still a great workplace (without deadlines is a plus), even if you're paid less than what you expect.
-
Arlekin8948y@larsouille hard to say since i dont really have anything to compare to, but it is not a high salary in other industries, my friend who i'd say has a really nice salary has 2,5k €/ month netto
-
@Arlekin I don't understand this huge salary difference between a small company and corporation. Here in France, in small company, you won't have less than I have, unless you're a student.
-
@Arlekin Probably, but well, I'm still surprise. It also depends of your location, for example, I'm not working in Paris, this is a reason why I earn less.
-
Arlekin8948y@larsouille Well i do, but i need some time to sort stuff out not to leave mess behind me, and also im kinda insecure qnd for various reasons i need very stable income
Hey guys, I was wondering how much you're paid per month, how long have you been a dev and where you're from.
Personally, FR here paid 1500€ ($1700) +- for 3 years XP.
