Under that context, I assume they must mean recreational experience qualifies.

I feel that, I have a year and a half of experience and most places ive been looking at say they want at least 3, even for entry level stuff.

@Maragnus I'd hope your right haha! My 4 years at the tech counts as experience right? lol

It's kinda ridiculous. On paper, I can count about 10 years of experience. Only a fraction of that actually counts to worthwhile experience.

3 years working for a gamedev company. Most of it stupid meetings, infighting and office politics.

4 years working for a web solutions company. Wasted most of my time cleaning server rooms and fixing dumb shit.

Best experience I have in the industry? The 2 years I spent working for myself. The rest was useless.
