Why isn't there an edit tweet option yet?

Because its really easy to abuse.

@Codex404 keeping the edit history public is a good solution 🤷‍♂️

I just don't get people wanting edit feature in tweets.

Implementing edit history will add another burden for this sinking platform. And there is no way it is going to prevent abuse. Ordinary people won't bother going into history of edits.

Scammers would be the only ones benefitting with this feature.

It's only 280 characters, just freaking make a new tweet.
