I'm kinda torn on this. I stayed off Facebook for years until I ended up joining it so I could find and join coding groups in my area.

Now, after I've lived in multiple countries, Facebook is a convenient way to stay in touch with friends from different countries.

I also end up doing business through people I know on Facebook.

Overall though, I wish I could drop it. I hate their censorship, how much data of mine is being tracked, how much time it wastes (unlike devrant :P) and all the other bullshit.

@n1had I still use it very rarely, but not for geeky purposes :P

@Ratwerks I have to admit that it is useful, but I'm more concerned about my privacy.

@LucaScorpion I deactivated my account Looooong ago.

For those of you who have dropped Facebook, what do you do to keep in contact with friends and family you don't see regularly?
