byogdc7246y@AleCx04 My girlfriend's dad was talking to him. My girlfriend's dad has been working at my company for 30+ years. Walked between him and the CEO to say hello as kind of a joke but when I realized that I just cut in line in front of the CEO, internally, I was like "why did I just do that"
-
@byogdc ahh man then shit, based on that context it doesn't seem like a bad thing or anything. Does your CEO know you or was able to identify you?
-
byogdc7246y@AleCx04 Nah my company is about 30,000+ people and I just joined a couple of months ago. I did shake his hand and talk to him briefly, but if I had to choose the way to meet the most important guy at my company, I wouldn't choose that way.
-
@byogdc i feel you man. Hope it went well once you talked to him.
At work I met the president(apparantly the head of a college is called a president) during my interview, he mentioned some issues on his phone during our convo nd his pc and i fixed them for him. So now I am sort of his go to guy for that. Even though I kinda don't like him. Too much ego for my taste. -
byogdc7246y@AleCx04 Yeah he was very nice. I let him go past me and I continued to talk to my girlfriend's dad, but I did get to say "nice to meet you" on the way out. So it wasn't too bad.

Wack61916yOnce happemd at a sommer employee event (sommerfest) in German, not sure if there's an equivalence in English. Back then I was 17 and did my apprentiship at a media company. There where a lot of old guys, writer for the newspaper belonging to the company. One tried to cut me in line so I simply said "Alter vor Schönheit" which roughly translates to "old people go first, beautiful ones second". Just then I looked into his face and... Well it was the CEO, no need to mention, it was on the first page of the internal newspaper (interne mitarbeiter zeitschrift) at the next issue.
Then again another time when he wasn't there a friend and mine went to his office (while we where suposed to be working and had some beers... But no one found out, so we're good ;)) -
mt3o19136yCome on, they are regular people, not anyone special. I'd treat ceo of my company like every other people, with respect and demanding equal. For friends i can be disrespectful, i just need to know they won't treat it as an offense. It's a kind of teasing that's allowable.
Treating people with more respect jest because they highier in corporational hierarchy, just like disrespectful treatment for people lower, is totally wrong.
However, if I met lets say president of my country, i won't mind swearing or spitting at him. It's a different kind of relationship. Politicians full of hipocrisy don't deserve the equal treatment.
So I met the CEO of my company today. By cutting past him in line at Starbucks.
