Nor you can use CON or any port name like LPT1 or COM1. Those are legacy device files, carried over from old MS-DOS times. PRN was the device file corresponding to the connected printer, and CON represents stdin/stdout.

In win7 you can't rename a folder to begin with a dot ("You must type a filename"), but cmd happily obliges. -
