Condor324966yFinally he came back. Kicking out Coraline Ada and that stupid Contributor's Covenant is next!! Things are changing again for the better, at last 😁
-
@Condor Let's not declare victory yet. Linus announced the new CoC himself in his comeback message.
What's left to be seen is if he'll return to his usual ways the moment someone tries to get a shitty PR past him and plays the race/gender/mental issue card after the constructive criticism. -
cursee171596y@Condor @ethernetzero someone on Reddit pointed out that it was only a month that he took a break and it's a valid time span to find a suitable employee to help him with such tasks.
That's a fair point and I also thought the same. -
Condor324966y@cursee I just hope that it won't turn him into a soyboy.. professional behavior is important, but so is criticism and plausibility of getting your patch rejected. If some people *ahem, SJW's* can't deal with that.. that's on them. Should a vibrant community change for the purpose of pleasing the batshit insane few? I like how Linus came back to the kernel development community (be that with a behavioral therapist or not) is good, but things certainly didn't get fixed yet across the board. But at least it's one victory in the war against the PC invasion.

Now all we need is a pushback for the latest trend of forcing projects to remove "offensive" (Massive air quotes) terminology from programming...
Welcome back Linus
