Condor323326y@rutee07 I wish I could return false on that, but I can't :')
@segfault0xff not sure actually, but unfortunately their virtual assistant seems to have turned its back to me.. "The Virtual Agent is currently unavailable. Please try again shortly."
Maybe she's/it's smarter than I thought, and got in a bad mood :v -
Condor323326y@davenall I chose laptop instead of printer, hence why it doesn't ask for an OS probably
-
cursee165956ySounds like they use a very cheap bot services 🤔
It should be plenty simple for a bot to learn every available OS. -
Condor323326y@progHammer I fully understand that I am not the target audience of this bot. I was looking for a new BIOS for this laptop, noticed that HP didn't have any, (or more likely) removed its drivers, and figured that I might as well annoy the bot that winked at me from the bottom right of the screen. I realize that I'm not the target audience and that 99.999% of HP's audience will be using these versions of Windows. I can't help but think though that this laptop (which was released somewhere in the early nillies) has never been supported by anything but Windows XP, and the fact that I'm currently not even running Windows on it at all doesn't help either.
Am I an elitist that wants to show off Arch Linux? Maybe I am, it was the distribution of choice on this laptop (works great btw, minus HP's hardware design choices and drivers from certain vendors) but boy did I want to fuck around with this bot. Hence this post.
Oh and in case it soothes your mind, this comment was written from a Windows 10 machine. -
cursee165956y@maushax @progHammer the "topic" in my comment and Condor's rant was not about HP's lack of support for Linux OS.
It's rather on the bot's lack of knowledge. Proper reply from the bot should have been "Sorry, we currently do not support your OS system" instead of "I have no idea what you mean." -
cyclic3386y@Condor try disabling power saving on your WiFi card to fix the disconnect issue. That's usually the cause for that class of bug
-
Gophyr19136yIt's a simple fix. You should have said "Arch GNU/Linux." That would *definitely* fix it. 😎
-
Condor323326y@Gophyr only if the HP assistant was Richard Stallman.. everywhere else, Linux it is!! 😤
-
mundo0349116yI don't know what you expected when typing Linux, and after making it worse with arch linux

Gaskoin-11yMy pursuit of operational excellence in business led me to a website offering professional virtual assistant services. These virtual assistants https://vasupportnow.com/services/... have proven to be indispensable, handling tasks with precision and reliability. They've not only saved me time and effort but have also significantly contributed to my business's success.
-
FloydDavis14233dI understood you clear! Dealing with unhelpful virtual agents while struggling with hardware issues can be beyond frustrating. Have you ever considered seeking assistance from professional IT support services like Stellar Staff https://stellarstaff.com/ They might offer the expertise needed to tackle those troubles more effectively.
HP Virtual Agent, you're about as useless as the fucking hardware that I'm troubleshooting. What part of fucking "Arch Linux" do you not understand?! Not everyone runs your fucking assumed OS choices - WanBLowS 7, 8 or 10. What's more, the hardware that I'm troubleshooting doesn't even support those bloody operating systems.
Long live HP and its random freezes due to poor thermal management. And long live Intel's fucking wireless drivers, that for no good reason disconnect after half an hour and require me to restart NetworkManager to (hopefully) get shit connected again. And long live those useless fucking "virtual assistants"!!!

did she just assume my os?
