where do you guys register your domains? :) i plan to seperated mine from my hosting provider.
namecheap looks good - any pros/cons i have to consider?

I asked a question similar to yours some months ago (I wanted to ditch GoDaddy), and went with NameCheap.

Nothing bad to say as of now... Real privacy for free forever, haven't gotten any spam after registering.

I just asked myself this questions the other day because there are so many new registrars. I'm going to probably use Namecheap next time. I started with LazyApe (still cheaper than Godaddy even though they are a 3rd party reseller for Godaddy), and now I use Godaddy.

Highly trained support, always available support chat, have internal anti social engineering rules setup that they shutdown easily - to prevent domain theft or transfers, as the name implies cheap, free whois protection, ..

I use AWS for so much, it made sense to use Route53 to register. I even transferred domains in GoDaddy over to AWS.

@psion1369 I don't like that AWS charges 0.50USD / month per domain in route 53, but other than that, it's great.

Seeing that you're in Germany: I'm using do.de for .de domains. Had no problems so far, and they offer IPv6 DynDNS which Namecheap doesn't.
