This pro developer in my work just made me look like a fucking useless potato today. Although he was really nice and made me understand what the problem was.

@Letmecode something with debugging. While I just tried to get away by casting it to the right type, he explained me why it wouldn't work and the right way to fix the problem.

Thr fact that I didn't notice it first is annoying the hell out of me.

@tahnik the fact that he made it sound so simple explains that you are in a good team. That should keep your morale up :)

im with @varundey on this one. sounds like there's a lot you can learn from such a guy so make use of that scarce resource! ;)

besides if he really is a pro developer like it sounds then he probably understands your situation and will not judge your overall performance because of an incident like this.

Imposter Syndrome is heavy in developers. Knew a 12yr programmer who still had that aura of humility. I think it's mainly because we work in an industry where at any moment our understanding can fall behind if we aren't on top of our small number of specializations.

that is how you learn, keep at it!

Just chill man. It's just a matter of experience. You'll get there.

Look at it this way, the next time another intern or less experienced person has the same issue, you'll know the answer and will be able to make the other person feel like a useless potato :)

This is what my useless TL felt every day when I helped him with shit...

It hurts programmer's self esteem so much.
