It's well known that you cannot read in dreams, however this would be a great way for you to get into lucid dreaming

this is normal and some research for lucid dreaming was mad for this. serves as trigger to induce a lucid dream. basically the dreamer knowing that he can't type in dreams will realise that he's dreaming right away if he's aware of it. -
@seraphimsystems i can absolutly read in my dreams, or at least i imagine i had read stuff. cause i was able to see the login prompt for the ssh shell. But it was probably just the memory of an image. Everything i read comes from my memory, dreams are sadly closed information systems.

@cephei i am surprisingly often "aware" that i am dreaming but i cannot do anything..i tried to steer of the dream director but it just ends in nothing. i guess i am not really knowing but rather feeling that i am dreaming, like the fuzy feeling of an distant memory. on the plus side, i never have nightmares, i just enjoy the ride and the story my brain tells

One of the constants in my live is that I cannot type in dreams, no touchpad or keyboard will ever output more than three coherent logically keys before it turns into gibberish. Other interaction works, but no input for computers or phones.
Today I dreamed of assisting a guy to shutdown the Linux Server I set up, via remote. The dream totally derailed and was a bit boring. My dream characters realized that something is up and used a different keyboard. No dice. Visually it looked like Thai or so without the appropriate fonts.
Sometimes I am really wondering what my dream director is thinking.
