So I just got offered an internship at my dream company in London. The programme sounds super nice, it looks like I'll learn a ton of stuff, and it's super well paid.

BUT MY FUCKING USELESS UNIVERSITY WON'T LET ME GO BECAUSE THEY WANT AT LEAST 4 MONTHS LONG INTERNSHIPS AND THIS ONE IS SUMMER ONLY. I just hate that fucking school, it's the opportunity of my dreams but they won't let me go because of some stupid rule..

    Any chance the company could help?

    @BadFox the program just runs for the summer. They told me they hired off-cycle previously but it didn't go well so they're most probably not gonna do it for me

    Could you maybe do two internships at different companies? That way you could still work at your dream company.

    @chaoticdenim go higher up on your university command chain?

    @Makenshi that's my current plan. I'll never give up this opportunity

    @BadFox but it's French. In French hierarchies, the higher you go, the dumber and less listening they get.

    @chaoticdenim go lower then! :D

    Nvm. Hope you will work something out!

    @chaoticdenim that's good, one of the morons will do it then.

    Offer at your dream company vs obiding by the whims of a college you hate?

    I'd have my fingers in the air alllll the way to the airport. 😊

    Do it. You can come back to university later. Who gives a fuck if they consider it or make u do another one. Its ur dream company...go

    @SecFreak If he is in a French university or some graduate school, he might need the internship to validate his year.

    @jotamontecino that's exactly the problem. If I go without their approval I will probably need to retake my year.
    Sadly I can't afford that..

    @chaoticdenim what's the school and the company? And yeah, negotiate with the school (and go in person, nothing will move through email). Maybe it won't count as internship and you'll do another one, but is it such a big deal
