@lazyDev not when they are lecturing about work that will intersect with mine or trying to get me to do work for them! E.g. My goal is simple, I need you to build an Uber for bunny rabbits.

Or more practically: My goal is simple: I need you to integrate un-documented legacy system A with poorly documented third party legacy system B, for a better UX. Even though only about .5% of our customers use both A and B and using them separate makes sense anyway.

@jeeper the second option can be handled as such:

Step 1: Point to Linux kernel

Step 2: Say, out loud, clearly, "If [legacy system A] can run that, someone's already had this problem and made exactly what you need. If no one's made it, you can *easily* make it yourself with something like Python. Get to work."

Step 3: If they are in your office, eject them from said office, by force if necessary. If you are in their office, walk out. Leave the door open to be an asshole.

"Oh btw, you want to develop it for me, right? Payment when it takes off, in the "exposure" currency. You're in, right? I mean, it's a billion dollar idea!!!"
