What is starting out progaming without explaining to your parents why you making an object move when you press a key, is not only impressive but also took you 15 hours to learn?

Forever unimpressive. I remember showing my parents several of my school projects and have them go "is that all it can do?" 😂 I don't show them anymore. Non-programmers rarely understand how difficult something simple-looking can be to make.

I feel this but my mum usually atleast pretended to be excited even though she did not understand any of it.

i have the problem with my gf, first she is all interested. Or pretends to be, i show some interface thing i build and try to explain why i am proud of it and instead of trying to understand she instantly changes topic totally disregarding what i did..its not some hyper deep code, its visible interface stuff. One can touch it. Makes me feel bad
