  • 3

  • 1

  • 1

  • 1

    @R1100 you're lucky you don't live in Italy, or you'd have been burnt at the stake already.
    What you're eating is Penne (make sure you pronounce that double n, or you're saying 'penis'), which is a type of short pasta.
    Spaghetti is the long and thin kind of pasta (sort of like noodles, but a bit different).

    @endor wow!
    I didn't know it matters !
    :))

    @R1100 hehe, if there's one thing italians really care about, it's their culinary tradition (and they're not that wrong, imho). God forbid you try to cross them when it comes to food, you can get some really nasty reactions from some people

    @endor italian foods are just PERFECT anyway :)
  • 0
    @endor are u italian?
  • 1
    @R1100 technically not, but I've been living here for most of my life, I pretty much grew up with italian culture
  • 0
    @endor is it true that they dont give out original receipes?
  • 7
    I'm Italian and I opened the post only to yell «that is NOT spaghetti!!! Aaaaargh!!!» 😆

    Moreover ketchup should never stay so close to pasta!!! 😆
  • 1
    @R1100 depends what you mean by that: the traditional recipes are all well documented, you can easily find them even online if you know what to look for (though I don't often see the *proper* recipes on non-italian sites).

    Of course, each cook tends to develop its own tricks and methods for preparing and mixing the ingredients, which affect the final taste of the dish. Some people like to share, others are much more secretive about it - it really depends on the kind of person you meet and how close you are to them

    @xonya really? But pasta tastes greate with ketchup :O
  • 5
    @R1100 No. Ketchup is evil. You can put in on a hot dog, not in pasta. On pasta you can use tomato sauce, not ketchup. 😁
  • 0
    @xonya didn't know they are different :O
  • 2
    @endor sounds like italians care so much about foods and traditions :D
  • 1
    @xonya next time I'm about to cook pasta with pesto souse !
  • 1
    @R1100 Hey, thanks. There was no need to apologize for putting ketchup on pasta 🤣
  • 2
    @xonya yes there is 🤣
    I know a bulgarian guy who puts ketchup on pasta with tuna 🤢
  • 1
    @endor not tuna :/
    Ugh
  • 2
    @xonya hueaheu half my family is Italian and I came here for the same thing 😂
  • 4
    I was waiting for the Italians to comment 😂
  • 3
    @xonya I'm suffering as well lmao
  • 3
    @ceee next time i wont say the food is italian 😂
  • 3
    @R1100 i prefer saying something like "Indianized Italian food" (insert your country's name accordingly). Because honestly that's what I make, and no matter how hard I try to keep it close to authentic, I'd avoid calling it Italian, on an online platform.😂
  • 1
    @ceee allright :))
    But the book claims it is 100% original
  • 4
    @R1100 there are also people who put peas and cream in a Carbonara and still dare to call it a Carbonara, but we still burn them like the heretics they are 😊🔪
  • 3
    @R1100 I'm sorry, I had to give my first --, you stabbed me right through my Italian pride 😖
  • 1
    @michezio sorry man :))
