Even the WHO supports there being multiple genders so to say otherwise is just foolish at this point..
I probably would just avoid this type of post mate. It wont end well -
I've seen people complaining that in a database the gender was a boolean with male = true and female = false. They complained addressing the negativity of false referred to being a female.
Then the proposed "solution" was to switch cases, and someone complained that this way being a female was like an anomaly, a flag to be set in order to differentiate a female from the default "normal" male.
I was like 😑 -
a) At least in Germany a third gender exists by law (and I guess anti discrimination laws disallow discrimination of any gender, including "other", so it is a legal requirement to include in forms).
b) If you assume that gender is only determined by genetics, there are intersex people that may not be represented by either male or female. -
620hun81886y@sbiewald it’s not a third gender, it’s for people who were biologically born without a sex (a rare medical condition)
-
@620hun Sure, but how to represent this in a form? "Click here if you have special medical condition"? I'm somehow uncomfortable with that option.
-
mt3o19136y@gashadokuro i know plenty of females who can't give birth, even though they'd want to. Are they less female-y by that? What about people having XXY chromosome? They can't give birth, yet they are not male either. Are they boys or girls?
Stop classifying people depending on whether they have vagina for you to f*ck them.
There are XY boys with no grown penis on the outside, only inside. Raised as girls until they grow teen mustache. Are they boys or girls?
There are many medical cases which go beyond your narrow binary model, but at first you have to acknowledge their existence.
And, finally, there is one more choice. I DON'T WANT TO DISCLOSE! -
@620hun Yes, that's what I meant :). The "third gender" might have been a wrong term by me as the new option in Germany is "divers" which means the same in English.
-
Multiple countries have other as an option. Even if you don't agree with the notion, you will probably have to accept it, if you're dealing with official stuff
-
First as somebody already mentioned, you might not want to disclose your gender at all.
Second: I really dont get the problem with this. Even if you think having more than 2 genders is bullshit: then let the "SJWs" have their fun with that, its not like anybody else is harmed or even affected by a third option.
Why the fuck does this "Other" or "Something else" shit exists? Afraid of SJW's or something like that? Or the 51 genders are just too much to type?
