My computer science professor didn't allowed to sit me in class when I reached just 5 mins late..He always closes the door of the class as soon as he enters..how rude?Give me suggestions what should I do?

I mean, they do reserve the right to do this. It's their class. Dick move, yes. But they can do it. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

@darsh yeah! You're right..but when you have to cycle 3km & attend a class at 8AM that too in cold weather then sometimes it's obvious that u get late..

@irene depending on country, it's likely 100% legal.

Tends to be more of a uni policy on what they can do, and it'll likely side with the professor, soooo

@irene They would side with that because that's an easy case to defend, even here in the states where court is literally set up for the "victim" to win. But we can agree to disagree because I'm not debating the legality of something this trivial.

I kinda understand the teacher here, because it's probably quite annoying to always have someone come late to a class if you're one.

@filthyranter I wrote "sometimes"..& 2-3mins late is not annoying at all.

Not saying that not letting the person into the class at all is a bit extreme tho.

Its rude to your class of entering late and disturb the lecture. Start biking five minutes earlier?

Also why should the prof care. He gets a crap ton of money anyway. If it was a lab with 5-10 people Id understand it but its most likely a class of 35+ people and as long as he sneaks in and doesnt make noise whats the issue? Also: what if someone needs to go the toilet? Should he lock them in? This is kindergarten level of teaching

Also: Don't pick early morning classes. Ever. Especially if getting there on time is a problem for you.
