dear god i hope i dont ever fall into the rat race like this... i can tell you exactly why you are feeling like this there is only one reason and that is because you've wasted years of your life by working at a job... they just put you a bait of salary and you fell for it, thinking its a good thing but in the long run its like pressing the self destruct button...
-
@SukMikeHok what? I don't do shit at work and I keep getting raises. Work is definitely not the issue.So...no, you couldn't be more wrong even if you tried.
-
What is happening is that you are depleting your dopamine levels with other activities thus there is not enough dopamine left for other hobbies. Look it up
-
@SukMikeHok he doesnt seem to be a full time worker with few years of grind. Student with side gigs at best. Like most of devranters
-
@zemaitis i am going for a masters in comp sci and currently work full time as a full stack dev for a college....been doing it for far longer than I've had my degree totaling 7 years of enterprise development
What is up with people making some intense assumptions in here? -
asgs115636yWhen math is more interesting, it is definitely not a bad sign. It could boost your part of the coding brain that requires this

Ximidar8526yPlease take this advice. Do not do CrossFit. I did CrossFit for 8 months 6 days a week and I am now disabled for the rest of my life. I could barely walk a single City block for a year. The most terrible thing is that I didn't even injure myself in the gym. I was asleep and herniated a disk in my back. Do your Olympic lifts and cardio in two completely different settings. Give your body time to heal. Do not make my mistake. Do not do CrossFit.

@Ximidar i am good fam thanks, was not asking for advice or anything. My instructor is straight and we don't do anything too different from weight lifting and cardio conditioning, we get to stop whenever we can and do stuff at our pace. If anything it has thought me how to do my other excercises properly.
You had a shitty instructor(s) -
@asgs I am gonna treasure your comment here because you are the only one that did not make retarded assumptions or gave me unsolicited advice.
Thanks for boosting my hopes for this community man. -
@SukMikeHok keep runnin out yo mouth see what happen
Ionno man, i had times when my github was runnin grey like fuck but always found smtin interesting eventually. Tried doin shit like hackerrank?
Also imma assume yo a 23y brooklyn street thug while we @ it -
pmso4176yIf you don't have energy to code side-projdcts, write your ideas somewhere. One day you will have energy to code, but no ideas.
-
@ganjaman yo it ain't the first time I see this dude just talking out of his ass. Reading comprehension should be a must in this profession....or at least I would think.
And I will try hackerrank, thanks bro.
I could pass by a ny thug, I dress that way already and don't look Texas at all -
@DataJockey indeed, like, when I get home all i wanna do is spend time with my family or play videogames :P
-
@SauceBoss we are pretty much the same in those regards man. I can't really force myself sometimes.
I do read documentation and articles to keep myself in the loop. And I am thinking more about working out or being with my wife and child more than anything else. -
@AleCx04 4 sum reason i never imagined u wit tha cowboy boots n hat sayin yeehaw after every sentence but that a nice image to think bout...
Look @ least u got a loving family, some people burn out wit nobody round and go back to them unnecessary big apartment (they gotta find a smaller one) an just crash every day, be thankful 4 what u got
I can't fucking find any motivation to run personal projects anymore.
Either i am fucking around with work shit or doing something else, but I just can't force myself to sit down and code for my own sake. I call this a "rut" and it would sometimes happen when playing guitar.
If anything, I find myself studying and practicing math more than anything else.....you know you are fucked in the head when math is more interesting than coding
Another thing thst keeps me busy...smash brs ultimate is amazing, red dead redemption 2 is amazing. And i started doing crossfit on ending of October...shit is addicting.
I just have so much shit going on.....
I need to get my inspiration back
