@xroad Not that America doesn't have problems with race relations, but TBH, we've been dealing with issues due to multiculturalism since we were founded, Europe is only now starting to experience massive cultural shifts... from what I saw in Germany it was less about race and more about "well he's clearly not German"

codeheap278yTry working for a Dutch company as an American. you're smiled to, treated nicely, but will never never be treated with the respect you deserve, nor granted any opportunity unless you somehow become Dutch.
source of implication: am American. worked for Dutch company.
the travel benefits are amazing though. 😃 -
I don't care if you are a cripple Asian gay Jew (or whatever), but if I don't get to do work because you are willing to settle for less because you live in a cheaper country I can imagine not being all that happy about that. Sure, it's what the market dictates, but that doesn't make it less frustrating.

szajba258y@stevenliemberg typical. Thats what you talk behind our back at the kitchen while we do our job? Maybe try to do some actual work instead of talking and you will not have to worry about foreigners. If you are good at IT I can not believe you struggle to find a job. This is just bullsh*t

szajba258y@stevenliemberg and btw we are a near shore center of the german company so they bill the client same for me and my colleagues from Poland as they do for German programmers.
Every time I go to Germany there is at least one guy that just hates it when foreigners are hired for programming. That happens for every project. Last time one guy was even pissed that he had to sit at the desk next to us. Like we were lepper. He spoke very laudly about that. We get the hardest tasks, get paid less than them and still have to put up with this kind of behavour. Shame on you Germany.
