my teachers says that ARP isn't used in IPv6 because the IP Address is unique enough...

    he is half-right. for IPv6 the ndp(neighbour discovering protocol) is used.

    @stop He is not. He says that something like that is not nessesary, because IPv6 addresses are like MAC addresses.

    @stop i did not disagree with the arp part, but with the explaination.

    Mac addresses are used for the physical topology, while ip adresses are used for the logical topology. So while arp may not be needed, it should very much still be used
