mbergeron36yScrum is so easy to understand and so hard to apply. Nowadays, organisations are driven by buzzwords (Buzzword Driven Development).
Doing the ceremonies, having the roles, sprinting, does not mean you are doing Scrum.
Lot of work to do and small wins to reach one at a time.
Keep your head up! -
I've done a lot of contract work over the last few years. Everybody, I mean everybody and their fucking brother says they do agile... Or scrum... Or have implemented some parts with plans to... Oh fuck me!
My last project, stand up meetings were going thru each user Jira story, in detail, every day. QA was only done after 4 months of development and not a single demo, ever... But, hey, we're agile cuz we had a meeting called stand up, so we're good -
I feel your pain. Try being asked to implement agile but then being told you’re a pain in the ass for doing it and then have everyone ignore any form of half decent project management.

donuts238486yI know teams that do it... I'm just not part of one...
I think I'm the only person on my team that knows what technical debt means... Or definition of agile is: whatever is urgent becomes #1. -
@mbergeron Hey, you made me find a new trend : Buzzword Driven Software Manufacturing

How bad it feels when it work in a place where Agile and DevOps are mostly abused buzzwords.
Forced doing "scrum" with:
- half of the team providing endless daily reports instead of focusing on the 3 questions
- a scrum master that is barely reachable
- a product owner that would not even make a decision
- a sponsor that pushes us to go faster regardless of current technical debt (it's important to look good to other sponsors!)
- doing all possible scrum ceremonies with no value added
- not even estimating stories
- not even having accurate description in stories. Most of the time not even a description.
- half of the team not understanding agile and DevOps at all
Feels so good (not). Am I the one in that boat?? ⁉️
What's the point of doing scrum if implemented that badly?? 😠
