I am trying to organize a Dev meetup in my city. Anyone have any experience with that or general tips?

The ones I've been to usually have a discussion portion where you just mingle and talk about the software subject.

Then it's either a workshop where you split into teams and try to solve a problem, then each team presents it's solution to the rest of the meetup, and there's open discussion about the tactics used in solving the problem.

Or it's a presentation where a guest speaker will show their work on a powerpoint and then they take a million questions from the group.

I hope this is what you meant by general tips haha.

@CoffeeNcode This. Also keep in mind as for communication apps/services that not everyone might use/want to use your default app so not all communication always runs through one channel :)

I think @Floydian just tryed to make a devrant meeting. Maybe he have some ideas.

Thank you all for the advice. I have some more ideas now and will keep you posted. But I doubt there are devs here from the area around Siegen, Germany :D
