JhonDoe27946y@condor , yup no need to say more
@irene I do that too. I got a couppe of TB's worth of anime I've already seen. Once in a while(every six months likely) when I got some free time and I feel like, I give a quick look or even rewatch some series -
JhonDoe27946y@irene that's goo too but I like to have them without needing internet. Because internet here are sometimes laggy as fuck for weeks, and when there's a long blackout I got something to watch while the laptop's battery last
-
That strengthens one of my favorite theories.
If you do something in IT, there's a 50% chance, you watch anime.
If you're using Linux, that chance raises by another 20%. -
@metamourge then I'm an outlier? Just not into it (watched Hikaru no go, read one Manga on Buddhism, but that's it)
-
JhonDoe27946y@phorkyas it depends of when you watched hikaru no go. Back in the day whe it was popular or recently
-
cursee165956y@irene you live in different kind of developing country 🙁
Our house has proper WiFi access for not even a year yet. So I kinda understand people hording video files. -
Condor323326y@irene honestly, I agree with @dontbeevil on this one.. YouTube and co. heavily compress files, hence why it's snappy. On 1080p video streams from my file server on the other hand, I even find 2.4GHz WiFi from my Raspberry Pi a bit lacking at times.. hence why I've moved to 5GHz wherever possible.
Another issue is that while my internet connection is more than sufficient for HD video streaming, I like streaming from local servers because it allows for more options. On YouTube, all you've got really is the web browser or SMPlayer with a recent version of youtube-dl. Given that YouTube vs youtube-dl has always been a bit of a cat-and-mouse game.. meh. I want to use whatever media player I like, whenever I like. Without any cat-and-mouse issues.
And I also watch most anime more than once. So since I know the owner of twist.moe a bit and really appreciate their work, I don't want to load their servers too much. So I fetch it once and from then on do local streaming only.
Maybe I should do the same for a pacman repo at some point 🤔 given that a lot of my devices run Arch and have a lot of packages in common. -
Condor323326y@PrivateGER Date a Live.. I see you're a man of culture as well 😏
Also, check out http://nixmagic.com/pics/... 🙃 -
Condor323326y@PrivateGER Asia ftw 😋
As for Re:Zero.. well other than that I think that Windows is a piece of shit for not rendering : properly, I think it was a great anime 😁
And if I'd have to choose between Rem or Ram.. probably Rem. I like her slightly (well, "slightly") unhinged yet caring nature 🙂 -
-
Condor323326y@PrivateGER the ones I keep tend to be the ones I recommend if you're into that genre 😛

Fabian10136yMaybe those 209GB aren't actually that much. I'm currently copying the DVD containing the last 6 or so episodes of Avatar and for some reason it seems to generate over 200GB of data from that. I must have configured something wrong…
-
@Fabian considering the entirety of breaking bad is 207G, I think you did something wrong yeah 😅
