@http418 well, grab a classic "1984". Or if you fancy some medical thriller, get Robin Cook's "Contagion" or "Chromosome 6"

Also "The Hunt for Red October" movie with Sean Connery is just marvelous

I saw the movie in the theater with my dad when I was a kid. I finally read the book when I was in my twenties, and have read it three more times since then. I recommend going through all of Clancy's earlier books. Patriot Games, Red Storm Rising, The Cardinal of the Kremlin(that's my favorite), Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of all Fears are all excellent.

I read so fast I get burnt out for like 6 months after finishing like 12 novels in a month.
