Being a developer is a fucking struggle and no one fucking understands it.

Trying to keep up with new technologies and working with Project Managers that wants stuff to be delivered in no time is what makes you regret your career sometimes..

Yep. Started working for a company last year, got given a project and website designs over Christmas last minute (we were all suppose to break up the 24th, I didn't). Deadline: one week and ready to be shipped even though the client wasn't back until early January so had a couple of weeks at most but nope.. one week delivery time. Only a front end (responsive) one page site sure but some really complex sections and a silly amount of assets so optimisation was a bit of a nightmare. Plus had to do some sections twice as the designs were completely different.

Usually I like to take a week off for the holidays, only took Christmas day off 😂

@HolyTeabags I mean really man, don't they understand that we are human livings and there are a lot of more important things than their stupid programs and websites.

@ivhysenbelli Oh and the designs I got were for desktop, I didn't get the mobile designs until 2 days before the deadline. I prefer to do mobile first so yeah bit of a rush job which wasn't ideal because I don't like rushing

@maushax Being honest, I just quit my job!

There are some fantastic dev positions available, sure there all going to have short deadlines and be stressful at times but we do the job because we enjoy the craft that comes with it. At least I do. Even though my job can be a combination of both. I still enjoy it and the team I work with 🙂
