lol no my wish was to install both windows and Linux but its grub stuff locked me

@rajilsaj Ah yeah I know this. You can google for grub update. But if I may give you an advice, first install Windows and then Linux, in that way Linux sees Windows and can install itself alongside.

it's weird that this seems to be a problem with recent UEFI BIOS still... sometimes the flag is needed, sometimes not. Or am I wrong?

@nona42 I really don't know on what it depends. I install the same version of Linux (SLES 11 SP3) on identical hardware and it happens randomly.

really odd, that flag is set in the partition table.. and such operations get verified after writing.. maybe a caching problem :/ let's be happy linux is so easy to install nowadays... I remember attempting install of SuSe Linux (8.x I think, came with 6 CDs iirc) when I was 12yrs old. Did not have the technical understanding to study that 2000 page handbook.. so obviously the installation was not possible heh.

Now, its almost automatic - even easier that Winblows.

Let's appreciate that - even with those small quirks here and there :)

@nona42 I totally agree with you. Right now I have to go through 4 DL-DVDs. 1 is the AutoYast and the rest is the system done, by the company I'm working for. All in all everthing is done quite automatic except some very important settings, like eth ports and FQDN. If you do this right it works like a charm.

How about PXE + NFS + install config file? I am a debian guy, dunno much about SuSe..

@nona42 I honestly have no idea what PXE is. NFS workes fine too, we have a local server with all the different releases.

@Yast2 really, look into setting up PXE - it will make your life so much easier and your coffee break will extend by hours :)
