Holy fucking shit I will never buy a piece from ubiquiti again! Fuck their fucking stupid controller software that's absolutely fucked up, and resets everything once it's finally working!

Just wanted to change my home network from 192.168.1.0/24 to 10.50.10.0/24, so I can set up a VPN, without worrying about ip clashes.

5 hours later and a bunch of unexplainable errors later, along with a bunch of stupid fixes, it's finally working

Oh man that sucks. I have ubiquiti and tp-link business gear it has been nothing but joy.

The issue is that since is enterprise gear you are supposed to know your stuff, but after learning about networking I'm in love with my local DNS, multiple zones and all. Good luck for next time!

We have unifi gear in the company. I fucking hate it. It is not working as intended, the webinterface is slow and several devices will be kicked out of the network without reason....

@benj I mean I've passed the first two parts of the Cisco certification with merits, so I'm definitely no expert, but I'm pretty knowledgeable.

But there was really just some things that did not make sense. I set three devices on the switch, with static ips in the 10.50.10.0/24 range, so I should be able to ping between them. But no. None of the hosts could find each other. I mean they'd show up in the arp table, but that's it. And it's like it's an L3 switch, so the logical topology shouldn't make any difference, it should just forward the frames. I think it was after resetting the switch (not just rebooting) for the 6th time, it suddenly worked.

But other than technical difficulties, I just think it's awful how they implemented the whole controller/adoption thing. I can spin up a router on a stick with multiple switches, hosts and vlans with Cisco equipment, because their structure actually makes sense
