Kuber-fucking-netes

I got certified in it and still find it complicated

oh thank God. i thought I was just stupid. everyone who knows it talks as if it's easy and makes life so simple.

What's wrong with it? I've attended a talk about it at FOSDEM a few years ago and found that it makes sharing CPU cores so much easier. It's a turnkey solution that allows for easy distributed computing. IMO it's *a lot* easier than the likes of MPICH which require you to rewrite your whole program to take advantage of the MPI interface.

@deadPix3l it is not easy, but not that hard either. And certainly it does make life easier, not simpler

@Condor have you experience of deploying kubernetes in a large enterprise environment?

@SSDD no, the talk only covered 4 Raspberry Pi's. He did remove, add in and replace units from the cluster though. I'm sure that principle remains the same regardless of whether it's 4 or 4000. Again, easier than MPI programming, more complex than a single computer. More or less like Proxmox clusters I guess.

@SSDD I did buy 5 Raspberry Pi's at the time to do it myself by the way. At the time there was a bug in Raspbian's implementation of Kubernetes that kind of killed it for me and I never bothered with it again afterwards, but other than that the process was pretty painless, given basic Linux command-line skills. Also, if memory serves me right, HypriotOS made it even easier by having all the important stuff preinstalled and some cruft removed.
