My favourite side project that I built solo is called Chat Journal, it's a simple and elegant, one-of-a-kind chat-based journal/notes application for android, built with flutter.
Almost spent around 3 months building and improving the app (and still publishing updates every 2 weeks). It literally defines what I've done outside of work for the past few months.
Do check it out and let me know what you think about it ☺️

If you don't mind me asking, how did you make that video? I like it and want to learn tbh

@JKamue Thanks for the info :D
@agiletelescope I must admit, your app made me rethink about learning flutter, I like how fast it is.

If you don't mind my feedback:

Yellow floating label is barely readable on light theme.

All-in-all the app has great simple UI, no lags and has great use of info in each new screen.

Out of scope question, do you set the transition of activities to be fading or its flutter behavior?

@JKamue oh sorry didn't notice lol thanks for the video maker website:D

@JKamue Is it easy to use? I haven't yet registered tbh

    thanks for making this ❤️

@iamavalos yup, @agiletelescope you should change the font to something else, if you want to keep the product Sans like appearance there are many other fonts that has similar looks.

For example "Pier" font here :

@JKamue The WhatsApp chats were the primary inspiration

@gitpush as mentioned by @JKamue it's called powtoon. They let you create a video pretty easily. Getting it to YouTube for yourself is kind of painful. First you have to give them permission to post the vid in your name on yt (with some initial promotion and description about their tool in the description, which you can't edit), then you'll have to download the vid from YouTube, trim it online, delete the previous Yt video, take the Yt permissions off, repost the video with the description you need.

@gitpush Ya the light theme dialog buttons are easy to miss. Will have to rework it someday, flutter is the best choice for making android apps if you ask me, I was a long time Android developer and I know I difficult it is to build an app thats so smooth and beautiful but all the credit goes to flutter, was able to build the core UI and other components in literally 2-3 weeks. And the fade transition is a custom transition, it's an easy thing to implement.

@iamavalos I think I screwed up choosing the product sans font for the app, really need to change to something else as quick as possible. Thanks for reminding me ☺️

@muhwyndham thanks a lot for suggesting the Pier font, didn't knew it existed, it's a really good alternative to product sans ☺️

@http418 Many don't notice that, took me hours to make it on Google drawings 😅

May I ask you, how did you create those great onboarding drawings, I've always wanted one in my apps. But since I can't really draw, it's been in todo list for long

@http418 undraw.co is an open-source site for illustrations, it has tons of vectors that can be customized and downloaded as svg or pngs
