They usually also want five years experience in a framework that was invented yesterday lol...

Being a stick in the mud here and I tend to find this reasonable - as long as it can be interpreted as "we use these things and we don't need someone who fights us on it because uploading index.html via filezilla to deploy to prod always worked for them".

I'll concede when they say "required" though, or use it in an attempt to intentionally attract candidates who will put up with unreasonable workloads.
