endor56666yCheck what dns server you're using on your wifi router, see if it has any issues, and try changing to a different one
-
Konsole30496y@endor Don't have access to router. Will have to talk to building manager. Doubt he will understand any part of this.
-
Konsole30496y@endor How would that work? I am still connected to the router right...? So the request passes through the router dns doesn't it?
-
endor56666y@Konsole nope, in that case all DNS requests would go directly to your DNS of choice (that's why you always specify DNS by ip address and not by a domain name), completely bypassing your router and its settings.
(In fact, it it weren't that way, you'd be leaking DNS information to your router and whoever controls it - a known vulnerability that should be fixed on all modern OSes) -
Maybe bad routing on your home network (might be the fault/intention of your provider).
To check if it is vastly different, you might want to run traceroute from your computer. -
Try changing the DNS to the Google server (8.8.8.8). Has happened to me in the past.
For some reason github is not working on my wifi.
First thought it was down.
