vane110526yThere are many possibilities, both optimistic and pessimistic like I will write a few:
- found someone else
- took your response as a Yes
- forgot about it and ask you is it still ok tomorrow morning
You never know what’s waiting for you until next day 🙂 -
@vane I think it will be the last one. That's why I hurried up a bit today to get my other pending stuff done as to avoid task context switching.

bols597746yDue to IDNK why I'm a risk assessing pain in the arse. So, The Sword of Damocles is what I'm suspecting might happen when you sign on tomorrow morning, or, worse yet, when some oik is waiting for you when you walk into the office and corners you after the female who said she'd forward the email to you went above your head and cried. Tears always get 'em. Tell us what happened!
-
@Fast-Nop Couldn't you have just told her, that you are busy at the moment and not ready for the task right now? 😅
-
@bols59 Actually, she had sent it out, but to the wrong email address. But it wasn't that urgent I guess. Even so, I could only address like 70% of the items, the rest needs further clarification.
@TheSilent The thing is that this would have cost even more time. So usually, I don't commit to anything and just say something loose because in order to even say something meaningful, I would already need to investigate.
However, it's getting worse because I just get bombarded with whatever brainfart they get from the customer, shifting from one project to the next daily, and I have called in for a meeting tomorrow because this is no way of working.
They fucking need to manage the customer instead of just forwarding and delegating anything away from their desk.
Office Ninja!
Today, my PM dropped by in the morning and mentioned she had some customer feedback on some item in a project where I'm the holiday replacement for someone else. I already had work to do, so that kind of interruption wasn't welcome.
"Well yeah, just forward it to me, I'll see what I can do", I told her. She agreed. Half an hour later, still no email from her. Hey, that looked promising!
For the rest of the day, I didn't talk to her, avoided speaking at all when she was near and even sneaked by her room (open doors) in silent mode lest I drew her attention and she might have remembered the email.
Until afternoon when I went home, still no email. Success! :-)
