1. I'm lazy
2. It pays the bills
3. I'm good at it... At least compared with all the monkeys I have to deal with

Maybe #3 is not so good... I couldn't think of another though...

What do you have against monkeys?

@stop They make a mess that I end up having to clean up. That goes against me being lazy.

Computers listen to exactly what I tell them to do and do it exactly as I tell them to do it.

Monkeys... You can tell them over and over again but either they don't listen or they find some new way to screw up and you're like WTF??? HOW?

@stop well what would you call them... idiots? I guess that works too but the common phrase is code monkeys?

Lazyness really is a highly undervalued attribute.

I can often spend days thinking about a problem before writing any actual code, which many seem to think is a waste of time. Yet I'm the one who doesn't have to rewrite my code 3 or 4 times to get it to actually do what it's supposed to.

Carpenters have a saying: "Measure twice, cut once."

My version is: "Think twice, code once."

@brahn that's true, but in this case I meant like I like to outsource as much of the boring work as possible.

"Give me what I want as fast as possible"
