    It's this kind of bullshit mentality that make people believe that devs time should be cheap or free. I'm a proponent of open source tools but pushing the idea that all software should be free is ludicrous

    @xroad free as in freedom, not free beer.
    I think this quote is not that clear, but it works both ways for me.

    But the UI isn't as "professional".

    @xroad agreed, but Linus is no Richard Stallman who is really the one I have a problem with...

    @pixelbark What UI? There are many to choose from. It's much more professional to give users the choice to pick the right tool (in that case window manager or desktop environment), than forcing upon them appealing windows with big fancy buttons, useless transparency, blurring, docks that just lie there with buttons you use less than once a week...
    The UI for both Windows and MacOS are shiny and all that, but in my book, professional means functional, not the waste of resources and pixels that all this shininess is.

    And mine tends to be the kind you can download.

    @d4ng3r0u5 sex or software? ;)

    When you hear "free sex", do you think as in freedom, or gratis?

    "Software is like sex, and I will give it all to you"
    Bill Gates.

    @geronimo "Trust me, I know what I'm talking about, I have ALL the sex. My sex is the best"

    This implies Linus has been buying sex. Isn't that a felony?

    @Gauthier not necessarily... I believe it's legal in Germany among other places

    Also, I'm pretty sure it's saying that Linus doesn't believe in paying for sex

    @ReturnVoid it says it's better when it's free, it implies he's tested both? (yeah, I'm sure he meant that as a joke, I know)
