Same here on an android device.
Tuning off flight-mode naturally activates Bluetooth, because of reasons. -
@TylerDDevRant
> Sadly, I'm still on Android 7
Then don't complain about a bug that's problably been fixed ages ago. -
It's correct this way, counterintuitive but still correct.
If both is off, the flight mode is turned on. If you turn the flight mode off, both are activated.
If you want to activate only one of them, you can do that by clicking "activate Wifi" (or similar) respectively "activate Bluetooth" under the Wifi (resp. Bluetooth) submenu.
How else could you turn on both with one click if only one was activated before? With the things being this way, you have the greatest freedom.
(Works for bot Ubuntu/Gnome and Android.) -
@Benedikt but wifi was still off. How hard can it be to keep track of what was turned on when switching to flight mode and restore these settings when turning it off again?^^
Wifi off shouldn't trigger flight mode. Imho bluetooth, WiFi and flight mode are three different things. -
@nitwhiz If it would remember the previous setting, you couldn't turn on both with on click.
If the wifi and bluetooth switches were seperated from the flight mode we would have unnecessary redundancy.
As it is now it is the only possibility that allows all without any obstacles but the fact that you have to know how it works. I think that's a very clever arrangement. -
@HampusMa
I feel like complaining because huawei decided to cancel any os update for my device.
Jep. I'm not willing to spend respectable amount of money for just fixing small bugs in my smartphone os.
Sue me. :P -
@Benedikt dude i don't know what you see, but just turning on bluetooth on turning off flight mode isn't genius at all, it's actually plain stupid. I repeat: wifi was still off. Now which wireless connection is it that you need most on your notebook? Not bluetooth. I'd say it'd made sense if turning off flight mode turns on wifi. But why the fuck randomly bluetooth.

@nitwhiz "Dude", I don't know what's going on with your devices, but the normal behaviour for Ubuntu/Gnome is:
Turning both wifi and bluetooth off -> Flight mode turns on.
Turning flight mode off -> Both wifi and bluetooth turns on.
Turning either wifi or bluetooth on while both are off (and thus flight mode is on) -> Flight mode turns off but the thing you did not activate stays off.
Fully understandable behaviour for me.
