Tl;dr got to mass slaughter expensive winblow$ servers from AWS. The kicker - no-one was using any of them for over a year...good bye saved money that’s no going to my paycheck 😭

Add up how much you saved the company and use it as leverage during performance review time

Luckily I asked around when I started and was able to get the approval to shut them off to help a bit. If they had continued running since I started the total bill would’ve been 179,159.04 for approximately 9months of run time.

Since I stopped them about 7 months ago, we were paying about 400 a month for the EBS storage. But still dropping 400 a month moving forward is good hahaha
