Fucking hell, my phone (Nexus 5X) just died: I was browsing the web in Chrome, it suddenly hung, after a few seconds it turned off, and will not turn on at all now, it's just completely dead. FUCK!
I was going to pick up a used printer this afternoon, now I may not be able to because I can't contact the person to get their address. And if I could, I don't have Maps to find the way. FUCK!
On top of that, yesterday I got a call from the bank that my credit card was used in a fraudulent transaction so they had to cancel it, and send out a new one, which I will not have until Friday or Monday next. FUCK!

I had this happen to me on a phone. The battery was not accurately reporting the charge. Then it just died. I panicked for a while. Then I just hooked it to the charger. It was just a dead battery.

    YMMV.

Apparently there's a known hardware defect with Nexus 5X's entering a boot loop out of nowhere, and I fear it is that.

Since the phone is more than 3 years old, I have no hope of getting a replacement under whatever kind of warranty. I doubt Google has any sort of repair program (such as the many ones Apple had to set up over the years) to fix known issues even after normal warranty has run its course.

@SomeNone go buy a cheap (maybe used) phone. Rescuing the Nexus 5x is worth it - you will need a new battery for it.

Can't you just put your SIM in another phone, so you can at least receive calls and send text?

I have a nexus 5 and something similar happened to me once. If I recall, I was able to boot into recovery mode and restart it that way? I can't remember exactly but I still have the phone and it's fine now.

@PlsHlpProgram I also have a Nexus 5 lying around, the screen doesn't work anymore, which was why I bought the Nexus 5X in the first place.

I now have the SIM card in a prehistoric phone (Samsung C3050) until I can get a new phone. I guess I'll get the Pixel 3A.
