The internet is expensive as hell compared with salaries, we can't access to services like amazon, google cloud, gitlab, private github, Android, and a lot more because of USA sanctions (we have to do some magic and sorcery to use them), and in the other hand our government applys restrictive laws (we call it the double embargo) like that one who says that you can't host services for the country with international providers, and the only national hosting provider has a terrible, feature-less and super expensive service. But hey, we like a lot what we do!!

I was in Cuba and I pretty much stop working and communicating with my clients. Not because of the expensive internet, but because it was not widely available

some people might say that salaries are low here and it's not worth staying here. These are the people who wanted quick money right after high school and emigrated to uk or south and are now true blue collars earning more and spending more.
Even though we earn less than other contries, we also spend much less. And we still have some nice post-soviet perks many others don't.

Some might say that politics are shit here. Well where isn't it?

Some might say that post-soviet mentality is a killer here. Well it's almost gone now. Generations have changed now.

Some might say that only a few cities are worth living in. Well wevare devs, we can do remote work. And land/real estate prices are freaking low in more distant places

some might say that there are too many alcoholics. There used to be. There still are some, but they will be extinct soon
