juzles38588yIf you are gamer you need windows anyway.
Just dualboot and experiment to find the perfect distro for you if you really like to try linux. -
kpenc21298y@Haxk20 No no Arch is no good for beginners.. I would suggest Manjaro as it is based on Arch but is much more novice friendly.
-
@Haxk20 you mean vanilla arch? Took a look at its install instructions and boy, you could fill a book with that. Did not see me qualified to make it work.

KimDotSe7628yBeen there done that! 😁 right now I'm dual booting win10 and Deepin (Debian Linux) just to have a nice transition to Linux. I love it so far. And I always have slow windows to fall back to

Good news everyone, Fedora servers went back up and I brought it back to life! So far so impressed by it that I could move it to the SSD. But now back to Overwatch 😁

@mclark1129 I always have used Ubuntu for the Linux-mandatory stuff, but never quite liked Unity nor KDE. Plus I heard some nasty stuff about Canonical.

grouch218yDual boot and make it a fun project. Slow transition if you really want to, but from experience it's hard to fully switch if you like games and don't enjoy blowing lots of time getting your new game to work

I don't like ubuntu, but when I do, I run xubuntu (ubuntu with xfce). Imo, best option for laptops at least.
Fedora is bleeding edge rhel/centos and breaks more easily.
Saturday plan: serious switch to Linux.
1. Installs Fedora, lookin nice.
2. Let's update it, fails to boot.
3. Nouveau driver fails, lets install proprietary one.
4. dnf install dependencies, repo returns 503
5. Be stuck on a 640x480 bash.
6. Boot windows, start overwatch.
